Greek Dinner
Had dinner last night at the Athens restaurant, by the junction of Sixth Ave and Bukit Timah Road. Rosanna and myself had thought of visiting Pasta Fresca, but its been a long time since I had Greek, so why not?
The restaurant had a decent ambience, but the food was disappointing. I ordered a gyros which was supposed to be lamb, but ended up as pork cutlets. The meat was soaked in its own juices, which belied my previous experience at Syrtaki’s in Zug. It was palatable, but didn’t quite make the grade.
The proprietor was warm and friendly, if a little over-talkative. He described his numerous visits to Greece to meet the suppliers of his cooking condiments. Did I know that the Olympics were to be held in Athens next year?
Two stars. Probably won’t want to end up there again unless its for a good reason. Not at this price anyway.
