Prolonged Fever Spell
It’s now my third day of high temperature and aching joints. It doesn’t seem very much like a flu to me, because the fever hasn’t broken yet. I’m still aching and my body feels hot to the touch - it looks like this is a nasty bug.
The most frustrating part is that I don’t know how long this will last. At times, my body temperature would subside, and I almost felt well. Then the temperature will rocket again and my aches would return, and I’m bedridden again. I am praying that this night’s rest will find the fever broken in the morning, but I am half resigned to expect that I shall still be bedridden.
Today, I started breaking out in cold sweat. My limbs would suddenly perspire and cool my heated body - I hope that’s a sign that things are starting to work again.
The doctor has treated me with paracetamol and antibiotics, but there’s little he can do but to alleviate the pain whilst my body battles the infection. If my fever continues tomorrow, I shall pay him another visit.
